THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE IS LOOKING INTO MARCONI, BUT IT’S UNCLEAR WHY. WHEN WE ASKED THE AG’S OFFICE IF IT’S A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, THEY SAID THEY HAD, QUOTE, NO COMMENT. THE AG’S OFFICE HAS CONFIRMED TO US THAT TWO ATTORNEYS FROM THEIR CIVIL BUREAU WERE AT THE APRIL 18TH. PEASE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MEETING. OUR SOURCES TELL NEWS NINE INVESTIGATES THAT THOSE ATTORNEYS BRIEFED THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ABOUT MARCONI, AND THAT IS WHEN HIS PAID LEAVE BEGAN. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE PORT AUTHORITY DIRECTOR HAS BEEN A PART OF AN INVESTIGATION BY THE AG’S OFFICE, WMUR REPORTS FROM 2007 SHOW AN EMPLOYEE OF MARCONI FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST HIM THAT EMPLOYEES HOME WAS LATER INVOLVED IN A DRIVE BY SHOOTING. THE REPORT SAYS CRITICS TRIED TO LINK MARCONI TO THE SHOOTING, WHICH HE CALLED, QUOTE, LUDICROUS AND WAS NEVER PROVEN BY THE AG’S INVESTIGATION. NOW WE HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CONNECT WITH GINO MARCONI, BUT WE’VE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL. THERE’S STILL A LOT OF QUESTIONS HERE, LIKE WHY WAS HE PLACED ON THIS LEAVE ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION INTO HIM AND HOW MUCH TAXPAYER DOLLARS WILL BE SPENT TO PAY HIM WHILE HE’S ON
