Love Through Music, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports underfunded music programs and schools, has donated $2,820 to Pasadena Waldorf School to help rebuild following the devastating LA wildfire in January.
The wildfire destroyed the school’s campus, leaving students and faculty displaced.
This donation was made possible through the leadership of Antonio Shyu, the president of Love Through Music and a junior at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, who spearheaded multiple fundraising concerts in 2023 and 2024. These concerts, held in San Marino and East Los Angeles, showcased young musicians’ talent and served as a platform to unite communities in support of education and the arts.
“Music is a universal language that has the power to heal and rebuild, and through our concerts, we wanted to bring hope and tangible support to those affected,” Shyu said.
“At Love Through Music, we have two core goals: promoting musical performance and supporting music education for schools. However, with the Pasadena Waldorf School tragically destroyed by the wildfire, our contribution to rebuilding feels even more significant, as many students are now displaced across different cities. Pasadena Waldorf School has played a vital role in fostering creativity and education, and we are honored to contribute to its recovery.”
As Love Through Music continues to support schools in need, the organization remains committed to using the power of music to inspire and uplift communities. Future initiatives and concerts are already in the works to expand this mission and bring even more opportunities to young musicians.
