Comedian Milton Jones has shared his prostate cancer diagnosis with fans, postponing multiple tour dates as he prepares for surgery. The popular stand-up, known for his appearances on shows like 'Mock The Week', revealed that he's set to undergo a surgical procedure in the upcoming weeks after being diagnosed with "treatable" prostate cancer.

Currently, support is flooding in for Milton from fans as he turns his attention to his recovery and eventual return to performing. The comedian, 60, joked: "abnormal service will resume as soon as possible" while tackling his health challenges.

His 'Ha!Milton' live tour was originally scheduled to visit numerous UK locations starting next month, but these commitments are now on hold for the sake of his health.

The comedian has rescheduled his London date for the Autumn

Milton said in a statement: "I'm so sorry about this, but I need to announce the cancellation of several dates from my ongoing Ha! Milton live tour. The affected shows are in Leeds, Coventry, Basingstoke, Sterts, Launceston, Durham, Hexham, Ilkley, Wakefield, Lichfield, Tunbridge Wells, Portsmouth, and Lyme Regis which were all due to take place this summer."

He added: "This difficult decision comes following a recent diagnosis of treatable prostate cancer. I'll be undergoing surgery soon and will need time afterwards to fully recover. In addition, the Summer dates in Colchester, Bridlington, Stroud, and London will be rescheduled to the Autumn. All dates currently scheduled for the Autumn leg of the tour remain unaffected. Ticket holders for the cancelled shows will be contacted directly by the venue box office."

He thanked his fans: "Thanks for your support and respecting my privacy during this time. This decision has not been taken lightly. Trust me, abnormal service will resume as soon as possible and I'm looking forward to being back out on the road again soon-though probably not on a bike!"

Known for his dead-pan delivery and impeccable timing, Milton has cemented his place among the UK's comedy elite. Bursting onto the scene with performances on Mock The Week and Live At The Apollo, his enduring popularity was evident as tickets for his expansive 70-show summer tour flew off the shelves, reports the Mirror.

Fans have rushed to Milton's social media accounts to express their support. One said: "Take as much time as you need, hoping all goes well."

Another offered reassuring words: "Understandable Milton, get well soon and we look forward to laughing at you again when you are better...take care."

Meanwhile, one fan playfully referenced Milton's humour: "A problem which you are grateful the Doctor was able to put their finger on. Good luck, many things they can do with prostate cancer when caught early."
