A man died in a hospice after he suffered a fall at the dentist, an inquest has heard.

Alan Fredrick Brown, of Didcot, sustained a head injury in the fall at the end of February.

The 77-year-old then sustained a further head injury in another fall while he was an inpatient at Sobell House Hospice on March 31.

The inquest, held by senior coroner Darren Salter at Oxford Coroner's Court on Friday, May 2, heard that a CT scan showed an acute on chronic subdural bleed.

The retired machine operator subsequently deteriorated and died in hospital on April 7 due to the head injury and cancer.

His death was ruled by Mr Salter as an accident.

The inquest was held in writing out of court.
