GasBuddy reports average gasoline prices in West Virginia dropped more than 7 cents in the last week

West Virginia (WOAY)—If you’ve filled up your tank lately, you might have noticed a welcome change.

According to GasBuddy, average gasoline prices in West Virginia have dropped more than 7 cents in the last week and are now averaging $3.00 a gallon.

That’s more than 11 cents lower than a month ago, and nearly 49 cents below what drivers were paying last year.

Yesterday, the cheapest station in the state charged $2.55 a gallon, while the most expensive station charged $3.29—a difference of seventy-four cents.

Diesel prices are also down nationwide, dropping to their lowest average since 2021.

Gasbuddy analyst Patrick De Haan says the decline comes despite a rise in oil prices, as refineries finish spring maintenance and ramp up output.

De Haan expects prices to remain stable heading into Memorial Day, with only minor fluctuations on the horizon.
