MORE than 1,000 motorbikes will take to the roads of Bournemouth and Poole this weekend in one of the biggest rides in the world.
This year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in Dorset is the third largest ride in more than 1,000 cities and towns in 102 countries.
And it has raised more than £74,000 so far – placing it just behind rides in Los Angeles and New York.
Taking place on Sunday, May 18, organisers for the event are now publicising the route so people can stand at the side of the road and show support.
The motorbikes will depart from Poole Quay at 10am, going through Poole Park and round the Sandbanks peninsula before going through Canford Cliffs.

Between 10.30am and 11am, it’s expected the large group will roar into Westbourne before heading to Bournemouth Pier.
At 11.15am, the group will park at the pier for spectators who see the bikes and meet the riders.
After a break, riders will head along East Cliff and up through Southbourne Grove. At 12.15pm to 12.30pm, bikes will pass through Christchurch Road in Boscombe.
They will then continue on the Wessex Way to Hurn, passing through Sopley, before finishing at Destination Triumph in Purewell at 1pm.
Marshalls will be collecting donations to support men’s mental health and prostate cancer research charities.
Event co-organiser Kris Gumbrell said: “We look forward to seeing everyone along the route and appreciate your support in raising awareness for this fantastic event.”
