EXCLUSIVE: Kind words from members of Donald Trump's inner circle towards the Joe Biden only lasted a day or two before the conspiracy theories started to fly – Now a doctor tackles the key question head on

Joe Biden’s cancer could have easily flown under the radar, a doctor has claimed, amid rancid conspiracy theories the Democratic party kept knowledge of his health hidden.

Dr Gareth Nye of the university of Salford issued a warning that the former president’s announcement should be a “wakeup call” for men everywhere.

Already the baseless theories have been swirling. Elon Musk has already endorsed a conspiracy theory about it being a grand ‘woke’ plan, while Donald Trump Jr said on Monday: “Everyone was in on the coverup! Who was running the country? We need accountability!”

There had been sympathy for the 82-year-old initially but that only seemed to last a day or so before figures around Trump’s inner-circle started chewing over ideas of a Democrat cover up.

“We really do need to be honest about whether the former president was capable of doing the job,” Vice President JD Vance said.

But a doctor has told the Daily Star how it's perfectly feasible that Biden’s diagnosis wasn’t spotted.

Dr Nye said it was hard to determine whether or not it is possible Biden’s cancer, which is understood to have metastasized, with a Gleason score of nine.

“Around 10% of patients will be diagnosed at presentation with their prostate cancer having spread and a study in the UK from around 10 years ago suggested over 40% of cancer diagnosis came at a very late stage,” Dr Nye said. “So it is fairly possible that no one knew until now.

“The reason prostate cancer rates are so high is because there is very little early stage symptoms. Any symptoms you see relate to urine, either changes in frequency, pain or blood while urinating.

“The usual diagnostic test for prostate cancer is the PSA test but this doesn't pick up some of the rarer prostate cancers (around 15% of patients will have prostate cancer but a negative test, 2% will have high grade cancer with a negative test).

“Its likely that Joe Biden had negative PSA tests and no symptoms until recently despite having prostate cancer and unfortunately this is just hugely unfortunate."

Biden himself has put forward a stoic front. In a post on X he appeared smiling alongside his wife Jill, saying: “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”

He is understood to have initially reported urinary symptoms leading doctors to discover a node on his prostate.

Following this, his personal office released a statement saying: “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management”.
