Arajet launches direct flights to Puerto Rico

Santo Domingo.- Sebastián Negrón, Secretary of the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce, praised the launch of new direct flights between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic by Arajet, the Dominican low-cost airline. He emphasized that the initiative will significantly boost tourism and trade between the two islands, encouraging mutual visits, cultural events, and joint tourism offerings.
Negrón highlighted the broader impact of the flights, calling them a catalyst for increased business and cultural exchange. He noted that this new phase of connectivity was reinforced by a recent memorandum of understanding signed by Puerto Rico Governor Jenniffer González and Dominican Tourism Minister David Collado to promote bilateral tourism cooperation.
Flights begin June 4 from Santo Domingo and June 6 from Punta Cana, with two and four weekly flights, respectively. These routes will also allow Puerto Rican travelers to connect to 11 destinations across Latin America.
