Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will co-host the 5th Business Summit of the Americas on December 3–4 in Punta Cana, ahead of the 10th Summit of the Americas.
The summit will convene top business leaders and heads of state from across Latin America and the Caribbean to promote private-sector-driven development. Key issues on the agenda include the responsible management of critical minerals, investment-friendly conditions such as security, and the future of financial systems in the region.
Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez expressed pride in hosting the event in collaboration with the IDB, emphasizing its value as a dialogue platform between governments and the private sector. IDB President Ilan Goldfajn highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration to unlock regional growth potential.
In preparation, over 70 companies and business groups gathered in Santo Domingo under the Americas Business Dialogue (ABD) to finalize proposals and recommendations that will be presented during the summit. This marks the fourth Business Summit organized by the IDB.
