These Are My Favorite Things I Ate And Drank While In Vietnam, And I'll Honestly Never Look At American Coffee The Same Way Again

The food in Vietnam was 10000000/10.

I recently went to Vietnam for the first time (which was also my first time in Southeast Asia). I went with my husband, and we visited Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Huế, Lan Ha Bay, and Hanoi. There was soooo much that I loved about our trip, from the people to the culture, and learning more about the history. And also...the food.

Oh my word, the food was SO good. We chowed down on so many dishes we had never tried before. So, here are 15 of my favorite things we ate and drank while in Vietnam.

And before you get to the list, I want to call out that these are just my opinions, and I am but a random American tourist. I'm always down to learn more about cultures that aren't my own, so let me know what I missed in the comments!

There you have it: 15 of my personal favorite things we ate and drank while in Vietnam. And it's not an exaggeration to say this barely scratches the surface of all the incredible culinary traditions throughout Vietnam.

I also want to say a major thank you to the food tours we went on! We wouldn't have necessarily known to try many of these foods (or where to find them) without the guidance of our local Vietnamese tour guides. If you or someone you know is going to Vietnam and it's within your budget, I highly recommend the following three food tours!

Ho Chi Minh City: XO Foodie Tour

Hoi An: Explore Hidden Gems Hoi An (booked via Airbnb)

Huế: Hue Food Walking Tour and Nightlife (booked via Airbnb)

So, what do you think? Have you tried any of these, and if so, did you like them? Do you have any other favorite Vietnamese dishes you didn't see on this list? Let us know in the comments!
