Phyllis Hodges, an Arkansas author, is making a splash in the literary world with her captivating books that have found homes in 60 school districts, 25 public libraries, 15 museums, and even the State Capitol.

Hodges' works, which cover a wide range of historical topics, are now being incorporated into school curriculums, thanks to the efforts of curriculum specialist Tracy Hollander.

She shared her journey to becoming an author, saying, "All I can say is, I woke up, I was feeling good. I wanted to share some stories I started to pin and the rest is history."

Hollander explained the impact of Hodges' books in the Watson Chapel School District, saying, "We have four different campuses in our school district, and we have these books in each one of the libraries for each campus. Our library media specialists have lessons with each one of the children each week."

Hodges' books are described as "six in one," covering living history, Arkansas history, American history, current history, world history, and African American history. "You can go on and on and on," Hodges said.

The author is thrilled about the global reach of her work, noting, "Starting as a local author, now turning into international, we will start a virtual training in Kenya, Africa."

Hodges emphasized the importance of education starting at home, saying, "When you look at education, it should start not just in the classroom, not just at the school, it should start at home."

For those interested in purchasing Hodges' books and merchandise, they are available online at her website, doyouphylme.com, and in various locations, including the Arkansas State Capitol gift shop.
