The Bermuda national football team will discover their opponents for the third and final round of the Concacaf region World Cup qualifiers today [June 12] at 8pm.

Supporters can watch the event live on the Concacaf YouTube channel.

Bermuda secured their spot in the draw after defeating Cuba 2-1 at the Estadio Antonio Maceo in Santiago de Cuba on Tuesday to finish second in group A.

Djair Parfitt-Williams and Reggie Lambe scored Bermuda’s goals.

The final round of the Concacaf qualifiers will feature 12 teams — the winners and runners-up from each second-round group.

These teams will be split into three groups of four. The qualified nations are Bermuda, Costa Rica, Curacao, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

During the Fifa Match Windows in September, October, and November, each team will face the others in their group both home and away, playing a total of six matches.

At the end of the round, the three group winners will qualify directly for the World Cup 2026, joining co-hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Additionally, the two best second-place finishers will advance to the play-off tournament, scheduled for March next year.

The draw for the final round will be executed using a single-blind system involving four pots.

Bermuda are in pot four with the other lowest-ranked Fifa teams in the draw: Nicaragua and Suriname.

An article on the Concacaf website reads: “The draw will begin with Pot 1.

“The first team drawn will be placed in Group A, position A1; the second team in Group B, position B1, and the third team in Group C, position C1.

“The same process will be followed for Pots 2, 3, and 4, assigning teams sequentially to Groups A, B, and C.

“At the conclusion of the draw, each group will consist of four teams, with one team from each pot.”

The match schedule for the final round will be announced after the official draw.
