Syria's Islamist-led government has introduced new rules for women's swimwear at public beaches and pools.
According to the tourism ministry, women are required to wear burkinis or swimwear that covers their bodies.
However, Western-style swimwear is allowed at private clubs and luxury hotels (four stars and above).
The rules, part of a broader decree on public safety, aim to respect public decency and societal norms.
The decree also outlines guidelines for men, including wearing shirts outside swimming areas and avoiding bare chests in public spaces.
