The Department of Environmental Conservation helped locate a missing child in Delaware County last week.

According to the DEC, around 2:50 p.m. on June 5th, Delaware County 911 requested Forest Ranger assistance in the search for a three-year-old child who had run into a wooded area approximately an hour earlier in the Town of Stamford.

The child was located at 4:10 p.m. approximately one mile from the point where they were last seen. EMS evaluated the child and determined the child to be in good health.

Along with the DEC, members of Roxbury and Stamford Fire Departments, New York State Police, and the Delaware County Sheriff’s office all helped in the search.
