New England concertgoers will soon have a new spot to catch a show.
Live Nation has announced a $1 billion investment plan to “build 18 new and revitalized live music venues” across the U.S., ranging from smaller clubs to outdoor amphitheaters.
Among these venues includes one in Portland, Maine. Live Nation expects to either open or break ground on all venues within the next 18 months.
“Our mission is simple: help artists deliver more unforgettable live experiences — and in doing so, create jobs, revive cities, and lift up the communities we touch,” Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino said in an online press release. “As an American company, we drive impact here at home while also helping elevate and export the very best of what this nation represents: freedom, creativity, grit, and boundless possibility.”

- Atlanta, Georgia
- Birmingham, Alabama
- Denver, Colorado
- Indianapolis, Indiana
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Nashville, Tennessee
- Orlando, Florida
- Portland, Maine
- Portland, Oregon
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Richmond, Virginia
- Riverside, Missouri
- Seattle, Washington
- Shakopee, Minnesota
- Virginia Beach, Virginia
Live Nation boasts 150 venues across the country, representing roughly 4% of all music venues nationwide.
Oxford Economics estimates that Live Nation’s $1 billion investment will spur $2.9 billion in total economic impact.
