'All clear' given after suspicious package investigation at Oregon Capitol

SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — Oregon State Police (OSP) has given the all clear after investigating a reported "suspicious device" at the State Capitol building, Wednesday afternoon.

KATU reporters say troopers set up a perimeter around the suspicious package on the first floor of the Capitol building.

After investigating, including members of the bomb squad, OSP said it determined that the item discovered was "not concerning."

The Capitol operated normally during this incident.

Investigators did not say what specifically was found.
