With vast experience across a variety of sectors, Frank Lawrence recognizes an opportunity to support + connect Arkansas Urology with more Arkansans. “Having spent years in banking and now leading in the health club industry, I’ve developed a broad understanding of various aspects of business. This makes me a generalist who can offer valuable insights and practical advice.” As CEO of Little Rock Athletic Centers, Frank’s devotion to health and wellness is undeniable. The Little Rock Racquet Club and Athletic Clubs offer Prostate Cancer Classes for members. “We realized that tailored exercise programs are crucial in combating these diseases and aiding recovery. More importantly, we found that building a supportive, kindred community was key to helping people through their recovery journeys, regardless of the illness.”
Frank was introduced to Arkansas Urology through friends and, more recently, Arkansas Urology Foundation Executive Director Chris Shenep. “Frank is in the business of good health. He’s a natural fit for our focus on men’s health and recovery,” Chris elaborates. “Frank’s been a tremendous asset while serving on the Arkansas Urology Foundation Board of Directors over the past two years.” The feeling is mutual. Frank adds, “It’s a shared commitment – promoting men’s health and raising awareness about prostate cancer through our specialized classes and outreach efforts.”
For more than two decades, Arkansas Urology has pioneered and expanded health care in Arkansas. The 11 clinics that serve more than 140,000 patients annually reflect the organization’s vision and excellence in urological care. This includes a urology-specific center, an advanced prostate cancer and radiation center, a 24-hour kidney stone hotline and a state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic center in Little Rock. Outstanding quality care and technology are paramount, but logistics and early detection remain critical considerations. Chris explains, “Arkansas Urology Foundation provides free prostate cancer screenings in underserved communities across the state. It’s the most common but curable cancer found in men – catching it in the early stage makes a difference in the survival rate.”
It’s this dedication to eliminating health disparities across the state that impresses Frank. “Arkansas Urology connects Arkansans with comprehensive healthcare and makes a significant impact on public health. Their commitment to education, collaboration, and advocacy ensures that everyone has the opportunity to live a longer, healthier, and happier life.” Frank believes the richness + diversity of The Natural State is also one of our greatest resources. “From the flatlands to the rolling hills, Little Rock’s varied terrain offers something for everyone to get out and enjoy.” He notes another aspect that makes Central Arkansas special is spaces like the Little Rock Athletic Club, Little Rock Racquet Club, North Little Rock Athletic Club and Downtown Athletic Club. “These venues not only promote health and wellness – but are also where people can connect, build relationships and foster community.” For the Lawrence family, a bright and healthy future is just the place they want to be and Arkansas Urology plays an important role. “It’s a winning combination of accessibility and excellence that truly sets them apart. Being a part of making the state better is what gets me up and excited every morning.”
