Virginia is 24-2 overall, 13-1 in the ACC and in possession of a three-game lead in the league standings with just four regular-season games to play. And two of those games are against the two lowest-rated KenPom teams in the ACC -- Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. So, barring an unimaginable collapse, Tony Bennett's Cavaliers are about to finish with the best ACC record for the third time in a five-year span.

Incredible stuff.

And it's why you can go ahead and, with a permanent marker, write Virginia down as a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The other three spots on the top line remain up for grabs, I think. But there's just no way for the Cavaliers to slip so much that four other schools rise above them. To be clear, that doesn't necessarily mean they're the nation's best team. But it does mean their resume is undeniably superior to everybody else's, which is the main reason Virginia is No. 1 in Monday morning's updated CBS Sports Top 25 (and one) college basketball rankings.
