A Maine man is facing an assault charge for allegedly assaulting a newborn baby.
Brewer police said they received information on Thursday that a 14-day-old infant had been assaulted.

WATCH HEREAs a result of their investigation, Matthew Lane, 21, of Brewer, was charged with assault and taken to Penobscot County Jail. No details on a court appearance were released.
The child was taken to an area hospital to be evaluated. Police said the child does not appear to have significant injuries.
